ReNewed - Your Role
Let's build our future together! It will take everyone's enthusiastic participation in the spirit of generosity and responsible stewardship to make it happen!
1
Seriously and Spiritually
Take the campaign both seriously and spiritually
Seriously – Give it your time, attention, and focus.
Spiritually – Engage in a spiritual process of prayer, faith, devotion, discernment, and a sense of communion with the church body. Consider the way God operates in the world through people. Humble myself to the possibility that God could direct me in some powerful way.
2
Reason and Revelation
Decide if you will give based upon Reason or upon Revelation

Reason – Look at what you possess. Determine what is reasonable. Make a rational assessment and commit that amount. However, there is no faith involved in this process, just our own understanding (see Pr. 3:5-6).
Revelation – Faith is an important factor. Our faith in God is pleasing to Him.
Heb. 11:6 says without faith, it is impossible to please God
Rom. 14:23 says whatever does not proceed from faith is sin
God doesn’t need our money. When we act by faith, we demonstrate our love, trust and surrender to Him. To give by revelation means that I determine my gift by praying, “Lord, what do you want me to give?” This approach does not produce reasonable gifts. It produces a gift that God defines. What is God putting on your heart, on your spouses’
heart? By making our giving a matter of prayer, then our decision becomes an act of worship, not an act of reason.
2 Cor. 9:6-8 says, “whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sow bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Joy in Generosity
On commitment Sunday, make a joyful commitment
In Exodus 35:4 – 36:7, Moses called upon all the congregation, whoever is generous of heart, to bring their contribution to the Lord to use for the construction of the Tabernacle. Everyone whose heart stirred and whose spirit moved them brought the Lord’s contribution. They continued to bring contributions until they were restrained from giving any more.
In 1 Chron. 29:1-9, King David had already made great provision for the temple. Even so, because of his delight in the house of God, he gave his personal treasure, clearly and openly declaring his commitment of gifts toward building the temple. He then challenged the assembly to voluntarily consecrate themselves to the Lord. The leaders and commanders and officials also gave wholeheartedly toward the work. The people rejoiced because of the leader’s willingness to give. King David also rejoiced greatly.
